The Wood Foundation has granted £150,000 to the STV Children’s Appeal for the 11th consecutive year.
The funds are distributed to local charities across Scotland which are addressing the immediate impacts and root causes of poverty facing families across the country, as well as supporting the administration costs of the Appeal.
This year’s Appeal Show airs on Friday 10th November on STV. The Wood Foundation’s UK Director Ali MacLachlan met with Fersands and Fountain Community Project to learn more about the need for its service and the challenges associated with poverty in Aberdeen.
Ali said:
“We are incredibly proud of our long-term partnership with the STV Children’s Appeal which is empowering local charities to deliver impactful and sustainable solutions within those communities most in need across Scotland. The work of the Appeal has never been more important.
“This year a portion of our funds will be directed towards the administration and campaign costs. Between ourselves and STV, this means that every penny raised through fundraising continues to go directly to young people and their families.”
STV Children’s Appeal was established in 2011 and has directed millions of pounds to charities the length and breadth of the country thanks to the support of partners such as The Wood Foundation, as well as the generosity of the Scottish public.
As well as being a funding partner, The Wood Foundation is also represented on the board of trustees for the Appeal.
