12 days RAiSEmas wood foudnation

On the first day of RAiSEmas, the STEM elves gave to me…

The Wood Foundation’s investment RAiSE (Raising Aspirations in Science Education) – which aims to engage children from a young age in STEM – has launched its 12 days of RAiSEmas initiative.

RAiSE – the programme of Education Scotland, The Wood Foundation, Scottish Government, and participating local authorities – strives to empower primary teachers with the confidence, skills, and networks to develop and deliver motivating and exciting STEM opportunities.

Over the next few weeks, Primary Science Development Officers (PSDOs) will take to X (@RaiseScotland) to share 12 different hands-on STEM activities with a festive twist for teachers to recreate in their classrooms.

From building Santa’s sleigh to exploring the intricacies of snowflake symmetry, PSDOs will deliver a range of creative activities that captivate primary school children. These engaging experiences not only spark curiosity but also lay the foundation for a strong STEM talent pipeline, driving innovation and future economic growth.

RAiSE has engaged 27 of Scotland’s 32 local authorities and is now working with its final cohort.
