Rugabano, in the west of Rwanda, will develop 4000Ha of tea to supply a Luxmi tea processing factory.
The Rugabano Outgrowers Services Company (ROS) has been established to support the 6,000 smallholder tea farming families.
This is Luxmi’s first tea investment in Africa and the factory will be 90% smallholder-supplied assuring a market for the smallholder farmers. The site has also been supported by DFID and Gatsby.
