The Wood Foundation has committed to funding Northsound Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal for a seventh year.
The investment of £18,000 covers the campaign’s running costs and promotion so that every pound raised from the public reaches local families most in need this Christmas.
Over the course of its partnership, The Wood Foundation has contributed more than £115,000 to Mission Christmas.
Ali MacLachlan, UK Director at The Wood Foundation, said:
“We are proud to once again be working with Michelle and her small, dedicated team at Cash for Kids to support this appeal.
“Many families in our local area are living in poverty and with Christmas comes huge anxiety. To help relieve an element of that worry at this time of year is incredibly important.”
Demand for Cash for Kids’ recent Coat Appeal had increased 50% on the year before and applications for Christmas presents are already significantly higher than in previous years.
Michelle Ferguson from the charity said:
“Demand for our services has increased. Poverty has grown and deepened locally. Thankfully, due to the generosity of so many people in the North-east community, we have been able to offer vital support to families.
“We are incredibly grateful to The Wood Foundation for their continued support and partnership and look forward to working together once again.”
The campaign runs from 15th November to 23rd December. For more information, visit https://planetradio.co.uk/northsound/charity/events/mission-christmas-aberdeen/.
