The Wood Foundation has donated a further £150,000 to the work of the STV Children’s Appeal.

Over the course of its nine-year partnership, £1.35m has been granted to the Appeal to distribute to local charities tackling the immediate impact and root causes of child poverty.

UK Director Ali MacLachlan said:

“We are proud of our long-standing partnership. The STV Children’s Appeal team works closely with community connected organisations across Scotland, addressing the stark reality facing too many families. It is committed to charities which so vitally promote hope and aspiration, regardless of circumstances, that deliver innovative solutions, empowering young people to realise their potential.”

The Wood Foundation’s Executive Chairman, Sir Ian Wood, sits on the Appeal’s board.

Natalie Wright, STV Children’s Appeal Campaign Manager, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to The Wood Foundation for another hugely generous donation. Our long and enduring partnership over the last nine years has gone a long way in helping to tackle child poverty in Scotland. We couldn’t do what we do without the unwavering support of partners like The Wood Foundation, and we’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank them for such a substantial contribution this year.”

The STV Children’s Appeal celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special show airing on Friday 28th October.
