The Wood Foundation is a proud partner of the STV Children’s Appeal which is empowering organisations throughout Scotland to address the causes and consequences of child poverty.

The Wood Foundation has supported the Appeal for six years and donated £900,000 to its efforts.

Our Chairman, Sir Ian Wood, is on the Board of Trustees representing the North-east. Our funding is concentrated on efforts in the region supporting charities and community groups including bereavement support service Sunrise Partnership, youth support charity Choices Aberdeen and a local project run by Street Soccer Scotland.

UK Director Ali MacLachlan said:

“The STV Children’s Appeal is doing vital work in addressing child poverty which remains a stark issue throughout Scotland.

“Going beyond the essential funds needed to support those living below the poverty line in the immediate term, the Appeal also supports charities which are addressing the causes of inequality and tackling deprivation at its root.

“We are very proud to have a significant partnership with the Appeal and its efforts in the North-east and throughout Scotland.”

The STV Children’s Appeal was established in 2011 and has raised £16.3m for Scottish charities dealing with the issue of childhood poverty.
