The success of our Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is made possible by the dedication of teachers who lead the programme in schools.

The Wood Foundation’s YPI empowers young people to make a meaningful difference in their communities while developing key skills through a unique programme of teamwork, research, and competition.

To ensure teachers feel confident, valued and supported in delivering YPI, we offer a range of professional learning opportunities throughout the academic year. This includes a series of webinars and a monthly drop-in session with our experienced YPI Programme Officers.

These online events are designed to strengthen knowledge, share best practice, and explore ways to maximise the impact of YPI for young people and schools.

This year’s offer includes sessions showcasing key data trends, an introduction to YPI for teachers and senior leaders new to the programme, as well as workshops focused on partnerships and charity engagement, drawing on practical examples from schools.

We will also host spotlight sessions to share best practice and real-world experiences from teachers and young people, with opportunities for discussion and questions. All YPI professional learning is aligned with GTCS Professional Standards and the national model of professional learning.
