Our programme activity is identified on a proactive basis, supporting strategic partners who can demonstrate their ability to deliver projects to scale and operate within our guiding principles.
Global Learning Partnerships (GLP)
GLP is a personal and career-long professional learning opportunity accredited by GTCS (General Teaching Council Scotland) in Global Education within Learning for Sustainability.
It is delivered by The Wood Foundation in collaboration with the education departments of partner local authorities. Participants are exposed to a number of training interventions, including a four week overseas cultural placement. These are designed to enhance their knowledge, understanding and delivery of global education within the classroom, the school and the wider learning community.
We still have some places remaining for the summer of 2017. If you are interested and you are employed by Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Highland Council and Stirling Council, we want to hear from you.
Whilst we do not accept unsolicited applications for most of our programmes, there is an open application process for organisations and individuals looking for sources of funding for young people in the North East of Scotland to volunteer overseas to undertake life changing and development experiences.
Before applying you should make sure you meet the following criteria:
The Group/Individual should:
- Be local to the North/North East of Scotland
- Be taking part in a project that builds capacity of the community the person/group is looking to visit, without displacement of local employment or business locally
