Government and national agencies
We work with the Scottish Government, Education Scotland and Skills Development Scotland to share learning, inform thinking and support work that strengthens outcomes for young people.
Our work is shaped by the people we work with: those who understand Scotland’s challenges, see what is possible and help turn support into lasting change.
We rarely work on our own. Across Scotland we bring people and organisations together around shared challenges - government and councils, schools and charities, researchers and enterprise. Sometimes we lead, sometimes we support others to. Either way the aim is the same: connect the right people, share what works and turn good intentions into real progress.

We work with the Scottish Government, Education Scotland and Skills Development Scotland to share learning, inform thinking and support work that strengthens outcomes for young people.
We partner with local authorities including Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Angus councils to turn ideas into practice in schools, communities and local systems.
We draw on insight from education, research and practice - including The Edge Foundation, Ford NGL, XP Schools and independent researchers such as IVAR - to test ideas, learn what works and understand the impact.
We work alongside other funders, charities and community organisations across the region, bringing people together around shared goals and helping support reach further.
In 2014, Sir Ian Wood chaired the Commission for Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce. Its final report made 39 recommendations to strengthen the relationship between education and employment, helping shape Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) - Scotland’s national youth employment strategy. In the decade since, youth unemployment has fallen from 18.8%. It is one example of what can happen when long-term thinking, practical insight and national partnership come together: change that reaches beyond one programme, one organisation or one investment.
