Opportunity and empowerment are at the heart of all The Wood Foundation’s Developing Young People in Scotland programmes and investments.
During Scottish Careers Week, we take the opportunity to highlight how our work is supporting them to make more informed decisions and prepare them for their chosen education or career pathway.
Our Excelerate partner schools engage with industry and community partners to help young people gain real-world insights and connect their learning to a range of exciting pathways.
Through YPI (Youth and Philanthropy Initiative), pupils connect with local charities, experiencing the impact of the third sector firsthand. A number of young people credit YPI as an inspiring influence in pursuing meaningful careers in charitable and community-based work, where they can truly make a difference.
At RAiSE – a programme of Education Scotland, The Wood Foundation, Scottish Government, and participating local authorities – we believe that engaging children from a young age in high quality STEM learning will strengthen STEM talent pipeline, driving future economic growth.
And, through our Volunteering Overseas investment, young people from the North-east gain life-changing experiences with ethical organisations worldwide, returning as compassionate and globally-minded leaders who inspire others.
By providing meaningful learning experiences, community engagement opportunities, and global perspectives, we equip the young people of Scotland to make positive contributions, whatever their chosen pathway may be, to build prosperous communities and #ShapeTheFuture. #ScotCareersWeek24
